titleOfInvention Optical disc with viewing window delayed
abstract A data layer suitable for being read out by a radiation beam in an optical scanning device and a reading window which disturbs the reading of at least part of the stored information for a predetermined period of time and is thereby delayed. An optical storage medium comprising access control means. Preferably, the access control means corresponds to an access control layer that covers at least a portion of the data layer selected to prevent access to the data layer. The beginning of the predetermined period may be determined by exposing the access control layer to the activation material. The length of the predetermined period may be adjusted by the diffusion barrier layer. Such an optical storage medium is preferably used for distributing content having a fixed release date.
