titleOfInvention | Method for manufacturing provisional and long-term dental crowns and bridges |
abstract | The present invention provides a method for making temporary and long-term dental restorations, in particular dental veneers, crowns and bridges. In one embodiment, the restoration can be made secondary by a dental laboratory. In another aspect, a dentist can make a restoration on the chair side for a patient in a dental office. A restoration is produced using a polymerizable dental composite material that is dimensional and shape stable in an uncured state. Substructures such as metal copings are used to support the polymerizable material. This material comprises a polymerizable acrylic compound, a polymerization initiator system that can be activated by light or heat, and preferably a filler material. The resulting dental restoration has good aesthetics, mechanical strength, and edges and contact surfaces. |
