abstract |
The present invention provides compositions and methods for producing translation components that extend the number of genetically encoded amino acids in vertebrate cells. The components include an orthogonal tRNA, an orthogonal aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase, a tRNA / synthetase orthogonal pair, and an unnatural amino acid. Also provided are proteins having unnatural amino acids in vertebrate cells and methods for producing the proteins. |
