The present invention is directed to surgical implantation of a catheter such that the drainage portion of the catheter is proximate to a predetermined introduction site in the brain, and the production of at least one neurodegenerative protein can be inhibited through the drainage portion of the catheter. There are provided devices, small interfering RNAs, and methods for treating neurodegenerative disorders, comprising releasing at least one dose of at least one substance. The present invention also provides valuable small interfering RNA vectors, systems, and methods for treating Huntington's disease in vivo without impairment of cellular endoplasmic reticulum, locomotor activity, or patient locomotor activity.
