Provided is a light emitting device suitable for use as a light source for a backlight that also serves as a touch panel and capable of emitting infrared light and white light and having high in-plane uniformity of emission intensity of white light and infrared light inside the backlight. On a substrate, a plurality of white LEDs and a plurality of infrared LEDs are arranged linearly.
