abstract | Provided is a light-emitting device capable of efficiently performing a light-emitting element mounting operation and improving light extraction efficiency. A light emitting device includes a light emitting unit and a substrate on which the light emitting unit is provided. In addition, the light emitting unit 20 includes an LED chip 21 having a vertically long shape, and is formed on the substrate 10 and attached on a reflecting portion 23 having a vertically long shape. The LED chip 21 is arranged so that its longitudinal direction intersects the longitudinal direction of the reflecting portion 23. The LED chip 21 is attached so that the short side S side of the LED chip 21 faces the wiring layer 13 (wiring side positive electrode or wiring side negative electrode).
