Disclosed is a liquid crystal aligning agent that can form a liquid crystal alignment film having excellent liquid crystal alignment properties, high heat resistance and light resistance, and excellent electrical characteristics, and also having good storage stability. The liquid crystal aligning agent includes an Si—X ′ bond (where X ′ is a group including a structure having liquid crystal alignment ability) and an Si—X I bond (where X I is a group including an epoxy structure). And a polyorganosiloxane (A) having an acetal ester structure of a carboxylic acid, a ketal ester structure of a carboxylic acid, a 1-alkylcycloalkyl ester structure of a carboxylic acid, and a t-butyl ester structure of a carboxylic acid.
