abstract Provided is a method for efficiently drying and reducing the volume of phytoremediation plants used for removing various kinds of plants such as agricultural crops, particularly heavy metals such as cadmium contained in contaminated soil. A method for compressing a plant through the following steps (I) to (IV). (I) The process of harvesting the plant cultivated in the planting place (II) The process of forming the plant harvested in the process (I) into a bale by the bale molding device (III) The bale obtained in the process (II) Step of storing and drying (IV) Step of compressing the bale dried in step (III) with a compression molding machine so that the compression ratio calculated by the following formula is 70% or less.
