titleOfInvention | Display element driving method and display element |
abstract | [PROBLEMS] To provide a display element that has a simple member configuration, can be driven at a low voltage, has excellent driving stability, and can display an image that can be viewed in a short time, and can finally display an image with sufficient contrast. Provided is a method for driving a display element having excellent properties. A display element driving method having an electrolyte layer containing at least a silver salt compound between a pair of opposing electrodes, and performing display by causing dissolution and precipitation of silver by applying a voltage between the electrodes. 2, after applying a voltage V 1 (V) equal to or higher than the silver deposition voltage V 0 (V) as the absolute value of the negative voltage to be applied to the observation side electrode of the display element, the silver deposition voltage V 0 ( V) and a voltage V 2 (V) smaller than the voltage V 1 (V) is applied to cause silver to be deposited on the observation side electrode surface to display an image.
