titleOfInvention Anisotropic membrane compounds
abstract Disclosed is a compound for an anisotropic film which is useful for an anisotropic film and has high dichroism in a short wavelength region and excellent durability. An anisotropic membrane compound in which the form of a free acid is represented by Formula 1. (Y 1 and Y 2 are OH or an acetylamino group; Z 1 and Z 2 are H, a halogen atom, OH, an acetylamino group, an optionally substituted C1-4 alkyl group, and optionally substituted. A good C1-4 alkoxy group, sulfo group or carboxy group; L 1 and L 2 are — (CH═CH) r— groups or — (C≡C) s— groups; and r and s are 1 to 5 M is 0 or 1; p and q are 0 or 1; and p and q cannot both be 0. X 1 and X 2 represent H or an organic group.) [Selection figure] None
