Process for producing 2- (2-hydroxyphenyl) hexafluoropropan-2-ol |
abstract |
A method for industrially producing 2- (4-hydroxyphenyl) hexafluoropropan-2-ol (p-M form) from hexafluoroacetone and phenol, which has a high o-M form selectivity. A method is provided that can ensure and reduce the purification steps to obtain a high purity product. A method for producing 2- (2-hydroxyphenyl) hexafluoropropan-2-ol by reacting hexafluoroacetone with phenol in the presence of hydrogen fluoride, wherein hexafluoro is added to 1 mol of phenol. This is a method for producing 2- (2-hydroxyphenyl) hexafluoropropan-2-ol with 1 to 5 mol of acetone and less than 0.01 to 1 mol of hydrogen fluoride. [Selection figure] None |
