titleOfInvention Rolled electroactive polymer
abstract A rolled electroactive polymer device is provided. The present invention also describes the adoption of these devices in a wide range of applications and manufacturing methods. The rolled electroactive polymer device includes a rolled electroactive polymer and at least two electrodes that convert between electrical and mechanical energy and provide mechanical / electrical energy conversion. A pre-strain can typically be applied to the polymer. In certain embodiments, a wound electroactive polymer device employs a spring-like mechanism that applies a straining force to the polymer . Since improving for many electroactive polymer prestrain machinery / electrical energy conversion, thus this mechanism improves the performance of the rolled electroactive polymer device.
