abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode for a lithium ion secondary battery capable of forming a lithium ion secondary battery in which occurrence of an internal short circuit due to dendrite growth is sufficiently suppressed and excellent in rate characteristics and charge / discharge cycle characteristics. SOLUTION: A current collector 16, an active material layer 18 formed on the current collector 16, and a protective layer 30 formed on the active material layer 18, wherein the protective layer 30 is crosslinked. The electrode for lithium ion secondary batteries containing the organic particle which consists of polymethylmethacrylate which has a structure, and the average particle diameter D50 of the said organic particle is 0.5-4.0 micrometers.
