The present invention provides an ink jet recording method which has a high printing density for various recording media, has excellent bleed suitability, back-through resistance, and duplex printing suitability, and is independent of the background color of the print media. An ink jet recording method for performing printing by attaching a white ink composition containing hollow resin particles and an ink composition containing a colorant to a recording medium, wherein the white ink composition is used.
