abstract A reagent holding container which can store a reagent stably for a long period of time and has high solubility and mixing property of the reagent, and a specimen detection apparatus including the reagent holding container are provided. Reagent holding containers (32a, 32c) have a recess on the inner surface, and at least the recess holds the reagent in a dry state. The sample detection apparatus is connected to the liquid supply cassette and has a liquid supply cassette 20 having a test section 24 to which a tester can be attached, a microchannel 28 that extends through the test section and flows a sample, and communicates with the microchannel.
