Disclosed is an electrochemical cell having a reduced resistance by reducing the resistance (high ionic conductivity) of a solid electrolyte constituting the electrochemical cell. A solid electrolyte including columnar crystals having oxide ion conductivity or proton conductivity and controlled crystal orientation, produced by using an electron beam physical vapor deposition method or a discharge plasma sintering method.
