abstract Disclosed is a small molecule caspase and a TNF-α inhibitor that have potent, stable and good membrane penetration properties that effectively block apoptosis in vivo. The present invention relates to a new class of compounds of formula (I), which are caspases and inhibitors of TNF-α. The invention also relates to pharmaceutical compositions containing these compounds.
