abstract |
A method for economically and efficiently incorporating magnetic or large particles using an inexpensive and accurate inkjet imaging process. Disclosed herein is a method of using an ink having a gelling agent capable of forming a gel state used as a receiver for particulate material. The ink is liquid when jetted, but immediately becomes a sticky / semi-solid / gel state prior to curing when cooled on the substrate to a temperature below the ink gel temperature. Various types of dry powder and solid particulate material are then applied to the jetted ink and fixed in place when the ink is cured. [Selection figure] None |
