Provided is a lubricating oil for an internal combustion engine having excellent high-temperature deposit prevention performance (TEOST deposit prevention performance) without impairing low fuel consumption performance required for dealing with energy environmental problems. A kinematic viscosity at 100 ° C is 2 cSt to 13 cSt, contains 1 wt% to 20 wt% of a heavy component at 480 ° C or higher in a boiling range measured by gas chromatographic distillation, and is heavy at 430 ° C or higher.
