Provided is a method for producing an α-aminoketone compound in one step using a trihydric or higher polyhydric alcohol. In the presence of a catalyst (A) containing one or more metal components selected from cobalt, yttrium and palladium, a trihydric or higher polyhydric alcohol (B) and a secondary amine compound (C) are produced.
