Disclosed is a disc brake pad in which a backing metal and a friction material are joined, and is excellent in corrosion resistance and heat-resistant adhesion, and has no problem in terms of environmental friendliness and resource saving, and a manufacturing method thereof. A backing metal and a friction material are joined via an oxide film containing iron and at least one selected from Zr, Ti, and Hf.
