Disclosed is an antihyperglycemic controlled release tablet that does not use swelling polymers. (A) (i) 75-95% by weight of metformin hydrochloride based on the weight of the core; (ii) 3-15% by weight of a water-soluble binder based on the weight of the core; A core comprising from 2 to 20% by weight of an absorption enhancer based on weight, (b) a water-soluble seal coat optionally surrounding the core, and (c) the core or said so as to control the release of metformin A controlled release tablet comprising a modified polymer film covering a core surrounded by an optional seal coat.
