PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new therapeutic method for a patient with nicotine responsive neuropsychiatric disease. A nicotine responsive neuropsychiatric disorder can be treated by administering a nicotine antagonist, particularly mecamylamine. A combination therapy of mecamylamine and a neuroleptic is also disclosed.
