abstract |
An IgE-dependent histamine releasing factor (HRF) and a peptide that binds to the same are provided. A deleted HRF capable of forming a dimer containing a specific amino acid sequence, a gene encoding the deleted HRF, and a novel HRF-binding peptide capable of suppressing the activity of HRF. A kit for screening for drugs that suppress allergy development by HRF, and detection of HRF in serum of allergic patients, using deletion-type HRF capable of forming the dimer that enables histamine and IL-8 secretion. The use of the HRF-binding peptide for the prevention and treatment of allergic diseases such as asthma and rhinitis in animals or malaria. [Selection] Figure 1 |
