An efficient method for producing induced pluripotent stem cells is provided. A method for producing induced pluripotent stem cells from somatic cells, comprising the step of nuclear reprogramming the somatic cells with a nuclear reprogramming factor in the presence of at least one miRNA, wherein miRNA having the property of giving higher nuclear reprogramming efficiency in the presence of the miRNA than in the absence of the miRNA, and the nuclear reprogramming factor is (a) an Oct family member, (b) Oct family member and Klf family member, (c) Oct family member and Nanog, or (d) Oct family member, Klf family member and Myc family member at least, but not Sox family member, Method.
