A biological dressing for treating skin diseases comprising a rubber resin, a locally acceptable volatile solvent, and a pharmacologically active substance. Since the rubber resin is contained in an appropriate amount, the composition dries when the solvent evaporates to form a solid coating that adheres to the skin or mucous membrane to which the composition is applied, thereby presenting disease symptoms. The pharmacologically active substance is maintained in sustained contact with the skin or mucosal site. A method of treating skin disease symptoms using this pharmacological composition. [Effect] Biological bandages containing tinctures of benzoin and clotrimazole have been shown to be effective in alleviating the symptoms of psoriatic tinea. [Selection figure] None |
