Method for culturing primary cells under serum-free conditions and method for amplifying virus |
abstract |
【Task】 Provided is a method that allows culture of primary cells (especially primary avian cells) in a serum-free medium, which allows (I) growth of cells in log phase and (II) maintenance of cells in stationary phase thing. [Solution] The present invention relates to a method for culturing primary cells. The primary cells are cultured in a serum-free medium containing a factor selected from the group consisting of growth factors and adhesion factors. This primary cell culture method can be one step of a method of amplifying a virus such as poxvirus. In this virus amplification method, primary cells are cultured in a serum-free medium containing a factor selected from the group consisting of growth factors and adhesion factors. The cells are then infected with the virus and the infected cells are cultured in serum-free medium until progeny virus is produced. [Selection figure] None |
