titleOfInvention | Saccharification method of woody biomass |
abstract | Disclosed is a method for pretreating bark that enables high-yield saccharification of cellulose and hemicellulose contained in the bark of a woody plant by enzymatic treatment, and a method for saccharifying the pretreated bark. SOLUTION: The bark of a woody plant is contained in an alkaline aqueous solution having a pH of 7.5 or more containing 2 to 10% by mass of a sulfite or bisulfite and 1 to 5% by mass of an alkaline pH adjusting aid. And pre-treat by dipping for a certain time. The pretreatment liquid is subjected to solid-liquid separation, and the fiber obtained by defibrating the pretreatment product is decomposed by a polysaccharide-degrading enzyme to saccharify the bark of the woody plant.
