abstract 【Task】 Provided are a heat engine exhaust gas purification device, an exhaust gas purification method, and a CO and NOx purification catalyst used therefor, which purify CO and NOx in exhaust gas in an oxygen-excess atmosphere with high CO and NOx purification performance. [Solution] A CO purification catalyst that oxidizes and purifies CO in the exhaust gas flow path of a heat engine that exhausts exhaust gas in an oxygen atmosphere that is in excess of the stoichiometric amount, or a function that reduces NOx in the exhaust gas using CO as a reducing agent. An exhaust gas purification device equipped with a CO, NOx purification catalyst to which is added is disposed. The CO purification catalyst has a catalytically active component containing Nb, and can further provide a NOx purification function by adding Ir. [Selection] Figure 1
