A non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery capable of obtaining a high energy density and having stable cycle characteristics is provided. A non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprising a positive electrode having a positive electrode active material layer and a negative electrode having a negative electrode active material layer and an electrolyte solution, wherein the secondary battery includes at least one of the positive electrode active material layer and the negative electrode active material layer. A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprising a binder containing a polyvinylidene fluoride resin having a mass average molecular weight of 500,000 or more and polyvinylpyrrolidone. An electrode in which an active material, a binder containing a polyvinylidene fluoride resin having a mass average molecular weight of 500,000 or more, and an active material layer containing polyvinylpyrrolidone are provided on an electrode current collector. An active material, a binder containing at least a polyvinylidene fluoride resin having a mass average molecular weight of 500,000 or more, and a mixture containing polyvinylpyrrolidone.
