abstract | The present invention provides an olefin polymerization catalyst and a method for producing an olefin polymer, which can be obtained by single-stage polymerization of an olefin polymer having a high melt flow rate and a wide molecular weight distribution. Olefin polymerization is carried out using an olefin polymerization catalyst comprising a solid titanium catalyst component, an organometallic compound catalyst component, and an organosilicon compound having a specific structure. An olefin polymer that can have a high melt flow rate with a small amount of hydrogen and has a large Mw / Mn value that is an index of molecular weight distribution is obtained.
