abstract | The present invention provides an agent for reducing or preventing a side effect in a hormone therapy using a gonadotropin-releasing hormone analog and a hormone therapy using a mixed hormone agent containing estrogen and progesterone. Furthermore, the present invention provides a recurrence inhibitory or preventive agent that suppresses or prevents recurrence of dysmenorrhea after hormonal therapy for dysmenorrhea using these drugs. The present invention provides an agent for reducing or preventing side effects and an agent for suppressing or preventing recurrence containing a French coastal pine bark extract. Clinical trials have shown that French coastal pine bark extract reduces or prevents the side effects of gonadotropin-releasing hormone analogs and of mixed hormones containing estrogen and progesterone. French coastal pine bark extract has also been shown to suppress or prevent recurrence of dysmenorrhea after hormonal therapy for dysmenorrhea using these agents. [Selection figure] None |
