abstract An object of the present invention is to provide an ink jet recording paper that has an appearance similar to that of a coated paper for offset printing and that has excellent ink jet aptitude and can be manufactured at low cost. In an inkjet recording paper of a type in which an ink fixing agent is supplied to the recording paper before printing, the recording paper is provided with a coating layer mainly composed of an inorganic pigment and a binder on at least one side of a sheet-like substrate. An inkjet recording paper, wherein the ratio of inorganic content / organic content determined by thermogravimetry of the coating layer in the vicinity of the surface is in the range of 97/3 to 70/30.
