abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a side effect of a conventional fibrate agent which is a therapeutic agent for metabolic syndrome and lipid abnormality and improve the therapeutic effect. The substance for preventing side effects of a dyslipidemic agent according to the present invention is extracted from a microalga of Dunaliella genus that is administered in combination with a fibrate agent of the dyslipidemic agent and prevents side effects caused by the fibrate agent. It suppresses liver hypertrophy caused by a PPAR-α agonist of a fibrate, and has the effects of promoting fat burning, inhibiting fat synthesis, and inhibiting cell growth, thereby preventing liver dysfunction.
