abstract An object of the present invention is to prevent misjudgment in a fuel system abnormality detection of an internal combustion engine. An ECU 40 is based on a comparison result between an air-fuel ratio correction value for making an air-fuel ratio detected value by an oxygen sensor 26 installed in an exhaust pipe 24 coincide with a target value and a predetermined predetermined determination value. An abnormality in the fuel system of the engine 10 is detected. The ECU 40 detects the alcohol concentration of the fuel supplied to the engine 10 and expands the normal range of the air-fuel ratio correction value during the period from the start of the engine 10 until the detection of the alcohol concentration in the fuel is completed. The predetermined judgment value is changed to [Selection] Figure 1
