abstract | An image forming apparatus capable of suppressing contamination of an image carrier due to a discharge product generated by discharge of a corona charging device and a process cartridge used for the image forming apparatus are provided. The rotation angle of the zeolite powder layer Z1 and the tip position of the zeolite powder layer Z1 which are supplied to the surface of the photoreceptor 1 from the zeolite powder supply means 10 by the control unit 15 and formed with a predetermined width are corona charged. The rotation angle until reaching the position directly below the device 2 is calculated. Based on these rotation angles, the photoreceptor 1 is rotated, and zeolite powder Z is supplied from the zeolite powder supply means 10 to the surface 1a of the photoreceptor 1 to form a zeolite powder layer Z1 having a predetermined width.
