titleOfInvention Alternative fuel
abstract An alternative fuel having a high octane number and suppressing phase separation by water in the atmosphere is provided. As an alternative fuel, ethanol is added to regular gasoline, and an aromatic furan such as 2-methylfuran is added as a cosolvent. If the ratio of ethanol is fixed and a portion of regular gasoline is replaced with 2-methylfuran, the minimum addition ratio of water that causes phase separation increases. By adding 2-methylfuran to a mixed fuel of regular gasoline and ethanol, phase separation due to water in the atmosphere can be suppressed. [Selection] Figure 1
