A novel endophytic fungus that produces a mixture of volatile antibiotics active against certain phytopathogenic fungi, bacteria, nematodes and insects. The present invention provides a method for controlling or treating plants, soil and seed from microbial infection, comprising applying an effective amount of a Muscodol species that produces volatile antibiotics. . The present invention relates to fungicides, fungicides, insecticides comprising this novel Muscodol strain and antibiotics, and metabolites produced by this strain, alone or in combination with other chemical and biological fungicides. Also relates to agents and nematicides. Similarly, methods for identifying and isolating related gas-producing fungi are provided. [Selection figure] None |
