abstract Provided is an industrially extremely advantageous production method of propylene from ethanol, which can produce propylene with high selectivity under relatively mild reaction conditions. In a method for producing an olefin having 3 or more carbon atoms, particularly propylene, from ethanol in the presence of a catalyst, a catalyst containing iron, zirconium and a zeolite analogue is used as the catalyst. H-ZSM-5 type zeolite with low caivan ratio is used as the zeolite analogue. [Selection figure] None
