abstract | A sufficient image density can be obtained without adding a pigment at a high concentration even at a normal addition concentration and a low toner adhesion amount, and contributing to environmental problems by reducing toner consumption. A toner capable of obtaining high image quality and expanding the color reproduction range, and a method for producing the toner are provided. The toner of the present invention is obtained by dissolving or dispersing at least a binder resin and a pigment in an organic solvent, suspending or emulsifying the dissolved or dispersed material in an aqueous medium, and granulating it. In the toner, a master batch or a pigment dispersion containing the binder resin and the pigment is dissolved or dispersed in a binder resin solution in which the binder resin is dissolved in an amount of 1% by mass to 90% by mass in the organic solvent.
