abstract | An object of the present invention is to cure with high sensitivity by infrared laser exposure, to have a wide heating latitude in preheating treatment, and to form an image excellent in printing durability even when preheating treatment is performed at low temperature, and to form a residual film in a non-image area. A negative lithographic printing plate precursor in which generation is suppressed and a plate making method thereof are provided. On a support, (A) a compound that decomposes by light or heat to generate an acid, (B-1) has a partial structure represented by the following general formula (I), and has a molecular weight of 2000 or less A negative lithographic printing plate precursor comprising an image recording layer containing a crosslinking agent, (B-2) a resole resin, (C) a binder polymer, and (D) an infrared absorber. In the general formula (I), R 1 represents a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, an alkoxy group, or a halogen atom, R 2 represents a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, m 1 represents an integer of 1 to 3, n 1 represents an integer of 0 to 3, and n 2 represents an integer of 1 to 3.
