abstract | The present invention provides a method for producing lactic acid, comprising a step of recovering an aqueous solution containing lactic acid derived from fermentation fermentation of microorganisms and removing impurities such as acetic acid and formic acid. A method for producing lactic acid by separating lactic acid produced in a culture solution by fermentation culture of microorganisms, wherein the culture solution is applied to a reverse osmosis membrane having a functional layer of polyamide and an operating pressure of 1 MPa or more and 8 MPa. A method for producing lactic acid, comprising the steps of removing an organic acid other than lactic acid in the culture broth on the permeate side and recovering an aqueous solution containing lactic acid from the non-permeate side, as described below.
