abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ferroelectric liquid crystal composition having a memory angle reproducibility, a memory angle that does not change with time, a baking behavior is not caused, and a preferable switching behavior is suppressed in which an inversion abnormality is suppressed. A ferroelectric liquid crystal composition comprising at least one semipolar organic boron compound, wherein the number of boron atoms in one molecule of the semipolar organic boron compound is 5 or less. Since the ferroelectric liquid crystal composition of the present invention exhibits a preferable switching behavior, a display element with good display quality can be produced with high productivity, and is extremely useful as a component of a ferroelectric liquid crystal display. ] None |
