The present invention provides a polymer coating for medical devices based on polyolefin derivatives. A method for producing a coating for a medical device, particularly a drug delivery stent, using various polymers. The polymers include homopolymers, copolymers, and terpolymers and have at least one unit derived from olefins and at least one unit derived from vinyl alcohol, allyl alcohol, and derivatives thereof. The coating contains a drug and is applied as a drug release rate limiting membrane. [Selection figure] None |
