abstract | A technique for improving usability and drop strength in a solid powder cosmetic is provided. A solid powder cosmetic containing 1 to 30% by mass of powder coated with fine particle titanium oxide having an average particle diameter of 0.01 to 0.08 μ as observed by an electron microscope and having an Olsen penetration hardness at a load of 2 pounds Both the usability and the drop strength are improved by the solid powder cosmetics having an A of 60 to 95. It is more preferable that the powder coated with titanium oxide is coated with fine particle titanium dioxide having an average particle diameter of 0.01 to 0.08 μ by electron microscope observation on the surface of the plate-like powder.
