Methods for the development of animal models |
abstract |
[PROBLEMS] To serve as a method for the development of mutant animals (including transgenic animals and animals with random mutations) as a human disease model, as a survival assay system useful in biomedical research and in the development of human therapeutics. To provide integrated technology for animal model development, including in-depth specifications and quality control. A method for establishing a mutant animal system comprising: (a) inducing superovulation in a sexually immature mutant founder (G0); (b) this superovulatory sexually immature mutation. Fertilizing the founder; (c) delivering the first generation mutant animal (F1) upon completion of gestation; (d) the mutation's stability, genotype, and inheritance in the first generation mutant animal. And (e) repeating steps (a) to (d) with one or more additional generations of mutant animals, as needed. . [Selection figure] None |
