A novel propylene production method is provided. The method for producing propylene according to the present invention is selected from the group consisting of nickel, titanium, vanadium, chromium, zirconium, niobium, molybdenum, ruthenium, rhodium, palladium, tantalum, tungsten, rhenium, osmium, iridium and platinum. Propylene is produced by contacting ethylene with a catalyst in which at least one element is contained in a non-regular mesoporous material, amorphous silica or zeolite. [Selection figure] None |
