abstract |
Gas generation inside a battery is suppressed. SOLUTION: A composite oxide particle mainly composed of lithium nickelate is deposited with sulfate, and heat treatment is performed to obtain a positive electrode active material. In a secondary battery that is manufactured using such a method and uses a positive electrode active material having a carbonate ion content of 0.15 wt% or less, gas generation inside the battery can be suppressed. The heat treatment is performed at a temperature of 150 ° C. or higher and 1200 ° C. or lower. As the sulfate, ammonium sulfate, lithium sulfate, or a mixed salt thereof is used, and 0.01 to 20 parts by weight of sulfate is applied to 100 parts by weight of the composite oxide particles and heat-treated.
