abstract Provided is a charge / discharge control method capable of eliminating a memory effect of each battery block while maintaining a desired charge / discharge capacity of a battery unit composed of a plurality of battery blocks. A charging / discharging control method is a control method for controlling charging and discharging of a battery unit 2 composed of a plurality of battery blocks 3A to 3D, and includes the following steps. (A) a step of detecting the occurrence of the memory effect on the discharge side for each of the plurality of battery blocks 3A to 3D; (b) a charge / discharge range of the battery block in which the occurrence of the memory effect is detected in step a; A step of setting the low remaining capacity corresponding range shifted from the normal range which is the charging / discharging range to the low remaining capacity side, and (c) at least one other than the battery block where the charging / discharging range is set in step b A step of setting the charge / discharge range of the battery block to a range corresponding to the high remaining capacity shifted from the normal range to the high remaining capacity side.
