titleOfInvention Data transmission optoelectronic device
abstract The present invention relates to an active section having an active element that generates optical gain when a forward bias is applied, an absorption section, a wave guide including the active section and the absorption section, and feedback to light. The wave guide is disposed between the mirrors, and the apparatus relates to a data transmission optoelectronic apparatus 300 that is operable in a pulse regime that emits pulsed laser light. The invention comprises an additional modulator 306, an index of refraction that can be modulated by an electro-optic effect, and means 213 for providing modulation of the index of refraction of the modulator. The refractive index of the modulator is changed so that the repetition frequency of the output pulse laser beam is changed, and the wave guide 103 further includes the additional modulator 306.
